Summary and Objectives

The Conditions of Participation for Critical Access Hospitals (Appendix W) and the Hospital Conditions of Participation Appendix A) lay out a framework for credentialing and privileging of providers. Other regulatory organizations, including The Joint Commission, also have requirements including Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) and Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE).

Upon completion of the webinar, participants will understand:

  • Federal and State regulations to consider
  • Overview of applicable Conditions of Participation
  • Overview of The Joint Commission Critical Access Hospital and Hospital standards
  • Requirements for primary source verification
  • Process for granting Clinical Privileges

  • Special considerations for tele-medicine providers and visiting specialties
