Hospitals are faced with the constant challenge of being surveyed on any given day. Surveys may occur as a result of a formal complaint or may occur as validation of another survey. These types of surveys are typically unannounced. For many hospitals, more than 50% of total revenue can be generated from CMS. This means participation in the Medicare and Medicaid programs and following CMS Conditions of Participation (COPs) is crucial as the foundation for regulatory survey readiness. A poor response with a state health department-initiated survey conducted on behalf of CMS is a disaster for a hospital attempting to maintain normal operations. Survey success may be critical for your hospital’s financial success as well as the mission to the community the hospital serves.
This webinar will communicate the necessary steps in the process to better prepare your hospital and staff when regulatory agencies arrive at your door. Being survey ready daily, by all staff, providers, and leaders will ensure a smoother survey response when the Surveyors arrive at your door.
Upon completion of the webinar, the participant will be able to:
Describe 3 strategies for hospital survey readiness
Describe 5 best TIPS for a successful survey.
