On September 30, 2019, CMS issued major regulatory changes for hospitals and critical access hospitals, the majority of which were effective the end of November.
The new regulations include changes to the swing bed regulatory requirements, including elimination of the requirement for an activities assessment by a qualified professional and adds a requirement to provide quality data to patients when they are admitted to swing bed or discharged to another level of care.
This webinar will discuss each of the changes to the swing bed requirements and provide some tips for meeting the new standards. We’ll also do a quick review of the October 2018 regulatory standards and some tips for meeting those standards as well.
- Describe changes to conditions of participation (CoP) for swing bed
- Identify at least one strategy to improve compliance with swing bed regulatory requirements
Did you know the swing bed regulations have changed twice in the last 13 months?
