Recent reimbursement methodology changes have a focused point of importance but none more than the relationship of active diagnoses, which affects both admission decisions and services provided. In the first quarter of PDPM, 55% of facilities have seen payment increases largely due to capturing the patient’s complexities that occurred not only while an acute patient but because of knowing the complete patient picture. What makes up the unique medical complexities of your patient must be known and captured to ensure accurate application of the PDPM methodology and a Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessment. Each of the PDPM components calculate independently of each other and have direct relationship to the patient’s clinical status and active diagnoses.
Upon completion of the webinar, the participant will be able to:
- Develop their Swing Bed MDS v1.17 assessment skills
- Learn how the PDPM reimbursement methodology’s six (6) components are calculated, along with the relationship to the patient’s active diagnoses to generate an HIPPS score.
